In a lesson, writing is an activity that cannot be separated
from reading or speaking. After a person has read, he must be faced with
writing activities, either simply summarizing, doing practice questions, and
telling stories in written form.
However, it is unfortunate that many teachers still think
that writing is not an important activity. This means that when a student is
able to solve a problem by speaking or issuing his idea, it is considered
complete.
In fact, there are other aspects that have not been touched,
namely writing.
It could be that a student is good at telling stories, but it
turns out that when he is asked to write it down, he is not able to. Not being
able to here can be interpreted that the writing is so bad.
Even though it is not enough, when students rely solely on
speaking, without being balanced with writing. Conversely, good writing must
also be balanced with speaking skills.
Therefore, writing activities cannot be separated from speaking
activities.
Realizing the importance of writing in writing that can be
read by the eye, the teacher should familiarize students with writing.
For example, after learning students are asked to rewrite it. After reading, students were asked to
summarize.
Even if students already understand the material, students
are still asked to write it down. Because this is related to writing habit.
Don't let the students' writing be unreadable.
The illegible writing in this chapter has the following
meanings:
v Students writing
are always late compared to other students of their age, even if their writing
is good
v Student writing
is bad and illegible
Writing in the learning process is very important, even as
important as the importance of learning.
Because writing is likened to an arrow or net that will be
used to catch prey. For example, if we are about to hunt deer in the forest,
suddenly the deer is in front of us, if we don't catch the deer with arrows or
nets, then how can we get the deer?
A good teacher should pay attention to student writing problems. For
example, when we have written on the blackboard, don't let the student just see
and read our writing, without him wanting to copy it in his notebook.
Not only that, we should also ask students to organize the writing
in a special notebook if we provide unique, relatively extraordinary, or
complex questions and answers.
Because for complex questions without neat and well-organized
writing, it is impossible for students to remember how to answer the questions
we give.
Do not also let students write on sheets of paper whose edges
will be lost in the fire.
If we estimate that when the problem is complicated and
requires a long answer then if students copying takes a relatively long time,
then we should have typed it or written by hand and then we distributed it to
students. This can save time in class lessons.
If we find that the student is lazy to take notes, takes too
long to take notes, or writes badly, then we try to make an improvement. The
trick is to give homework notes to students by knowing their parents. We need
to give an understanding of the importance of taking notes.
Then we take the problem to the parents, to pay special
attention to taking notes. We continue to give note-taking exercises until the
child is fluent in taking notes, good writing, and is not lazy in taking notes.
It should be noted that fast and good writing really helps
students' learning success in school.
