Set up a Private Space
It is
recommended that the distance between the tutor and students is not too far or
too close. The chalkboard should also be provided by the host and not too
small. The ideal size of a tutoring board is 1 meter wide and 60 cm high.
However, not all hosts provide a blackboard.
Therefore, the
tutor and students sit at 1 table. If you sit at the bottom, the table should
not be too high, because it makes the students uncomfortable sitting. Likewise,
if you sit on a chair, then the table should not be too high. Make sure
students look comfortable when writing and reading on the table. The room
arrangement should not be too crowded, but ideally it is in the living room by
limiting the movement of the occupants of the house because it will disturb the
concentration of students.
Even when
dealing with distance, don't be too close, at least one table place. Because if
we smell the sweat, it will make students nauseous. Likewise, if our mouth
smells, clothes smell, it will easily smell bad.
For students,
with a maintained distance, students will be able to work on questions without
being restrained because of the supervision of our eyes. Sometimes students are
nervous about turning up the questions we give them, when we often watch them
with our eyes and the distance is too close.
